Description Are you a book lover with a knack for organization? Warren-Newport Public Library in Gurnee, IL is seeking a seasonal part-time Page (non-exempt rate of $15.00 per hour) to ensure the efficient organization and accessibility of our library collection. This position runs from May through August with the potential for a permanent part-time position at the end of the season. As a seasonal summer Page, you'll work an average of 10-12 hours per week, evenings and weekends. Weekend hours are Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday hours are from Labor Day to Memorial Day. Sunday hours paid at time and half. Here's what you'll do: Unload and sort returned library materials, efficiently prepping them for reshelving. Organize materials onto shelving units in the correct order for easy retrieval by patrons. Keep library shelves tidy by sorting, shelving, straightening, and shifting materials as needed. Inspect returned materials, identify items that require repair and flagging them for attention. Conduct shelf reads to ensure library resources are consistently organized according to our system. Maintain visually appealing displays by restocking and straightening materials. Assist with preparing library spaces to accommodate various programs and events. Contribute to a clean and welcoming environment by participating in regular cleaning tasks in public and staff areas. Frequent interaction with the public is expected. Ability to lift and carry light materials (up to 40 lbs).
