Ensures safety and operational procedures are followed, onboard and office transportation systems function reliably, and visitors receive efficient, timely, and high‑quality customer service in line with Commission standards.  You will: * Ensures drivers start and finish times are accurately reported for payroll purposes. * Oversees daily operation of transportation computer system including CAD/AVL, fare logistics, and destination sign systems, provides driver training as required. * Completes daily operations reports, incident, accident and other reports as required. * Make suggestions in order to improve safety, customer service or operational efficiency. * Participates in hiring process, employee coaching, counselling and discipline, scheduling, staff evaluations, development of training as required. * Attends meetings, presentations, training and other sessions as recommended. * Calls in additional drivers due to absence in accordance with policy, procedures and the C.B.A. * Ensure drivers adhere to advertised schedule and makes adjustments and modifications to minimize the impact of incidents, accidents, delays or construction for the benefit of travelling visitors. * Develops and implements plans to adjust service as required due to driver absences, vehicle availability, events, construction and other planned events. * Liaises with other NPC departments and external emergency service providers to resolve service issues. * In cooperation with and under the direction of the Senior Manager, Parking & Transportation, directs and manages the overall supervision of operations, clerical and student staff. * Ensures that all staff work in compliance with O.H.& S. Act, the C.B.A. and NPC policies and procedures. * Supervises charter or extra transfers as required. * Investigates, follows up and responds/reports on incidents, accidents and customer complaints. * Monitors and directs staff use of the WEGO bus operations radio system. * Ensure drivers report daily, check uniform and ensure safety procedures are completed. * Monitors and enforces operational performance to provide optimal service to visitors. * Documents coaching counselling and discipline sessions and provides detailed feedback for annual performance reviews. * Provides additional services required by offering additional hours in accordance with the C.B.A. * Identifies drivers requiring additional training to ensure compliance with the NPC safety and operational procedures.  What You’ll Bring * Completion of Community College in a related field or equivalent knowledge and experience.  * Working knowledge and aptitude with computerized dispatch, vehicle tracking, destination signage and fare collection computer systems.   * Proficiency in computer software applications including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) scheduling software and other related systems.   * Knowledge of applicable legislation, acts, standards including Occupational Health & Safety Act, Highway Traffic Act and commercial vehicle operator registration system. * Demonstrated experience in a supervisory capacity in public transit within a unionized environment.   * Minimum three (3) years related driving experience with a minimum valid Class “C” license with “z” air brake endorsement.   * Supervisory experience monitoring driver performance, coaching, counselling to correct habits and behaviors and optimize levels of safety, customer service and efficiency.   * A thorough understanding  of the importance of quality customer service, including exceptional communication, interpersonal, problem solving skills and administrative skills.   * Ability to work in a fast paced environment as part of a team.   * Ability to exercise tact and courtesy to resolve issues and experience preparing reports for senior management.   * Ability and willingness to work weekends, holidays, shifts including flexibility to extend scheduled shifts and work outside regular business hours as required.
