North 40 Outfitters in Craig, MT is hiring Full and Part-Time Seasonal Trout Shop Associates to join our team for the 2026 season. We’re looking for authentic, enthusiastic people who love our lifestyle and believe in service before self. As a Trout Shop Associate, you play a key role in the customer experience—providing outstanding service, generating sales, assisting guests with product selection, and helping maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment. You’ll also support daily operations across our fly shop, guiding services, lodge, deli, and shuttle operations. Flexibility is key—early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays are common during peak season. Whether you’re looking to grow your fly fishing skills or are an experienced angler ready to help others make the most of their time on the Missouri River, this is an opportunity to work, learn, and fish in a world-class destination while contributing to a team-focused, hospitality-driven environment. Qualifications Willingness to share credit, work with others in a team environment, and define success collectively rather than individually Ability to take initiative, embrace change, and learn new things Drive to be dependable, and to perform well against the expectations of the role Ability to work independently or in a group setting Hospitality-minded attitude with a focus on guest experience and customer service Good communication skills and the ability to effectively engage with individuals on a regular basis Must be able to multitask and prioritize Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Retail and/or POS experience preferred Clean driving record and ability to back up a trailer • Familiarity and knowledge of fly fishing equipment, fly-tying, basic knots, and local fishing areas Willingness to demonstrate various techniques and train others to fly fish Previous merchandising experience is helpful Must be 21 years or older Understanding of correct lifting and loading techniques. Physical ability to lift and carry 0-25 lbs. continuously, 25-45 lbs. frequently, and 45-65 lbs. occasionally, and team lift anything over 65 lbs. Spending 100% of work time on your feet, including use of ladders, rolling staircases and pallet jacks. Additional Information The Trout Shop is a full-service fly fishing operation and a cornerstone of the Craig community. We do more than sell flies—we help guests plan their trip, fish hard, eat well, relax, and come back year after year. Our operation includes: A full-service fly shop offering premium gear, flies, rentals, and local knowledge Guided fly fishing trips, boat rentals, and shuttle services An in-house deli serving breakfast, lunch, snacks, drinks, beer, and wine Hub Saloon, our on-site restaurant The Trout Shop Lodge with six guest rooms for visiting anglers Craig is a small town, and teamwork matters.
