SEASONAL TRUCK DRIVER

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Our company is seeking Seasonal Truck Drivers to join our team and play a crucial role in our fall harvest operations. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting potatoes from our fields across Eastern PEI to our various warehouses and packing facilities. You will also drive the truck alongside our potato harvesting equipment in the field to collect the potatoes as they are harvested.
Drivers should be willing to work flexible and/or extended hours, including evenings and weekends, during peak seasons to get the job done.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Valid Class 3A license or better with a minimum of three years experience driving Class 3A or better.
  • Driver’s Abstract and reference will be requested.
  • Previous experience driving in the field during potato harvest would be an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Drive alongside harvest equipment in the field and then transport the potatoes from the field to the warehouse or packing facility.
  • Assist in loading and unloading potatoes.
  • Operate equipment safely and competently.
  • Complete pre-and post-trip inspections and address any issues immediately.
  • Be attentive to equipment cleaning, maintenance, etc. to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
  • Complete operations in a logical and efficient manner.
  • Work as part of a team and execute your role with a sense of pride and ownership (care for equipment, attention to detail, etc.)
  • Help with other tasks (rock picking, cleanup, cleaning out the truck box, directing the next truck, etc.) as needed.
