To perform the duties as a Lead Hand/Assistant Chief under the direction of the Chief Engineer.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will have:

• Valid 2nd Class Operating Engineer license certified by the Province of Ontario.
• Demonstrated experience in maintenance and operation of building HVAC systems, including circulating pumps and control systems
• Experience in the operation and maintenance of steam boilers and related power plant auxiliary equipment
• Experience with power plant operations, water chemical treatment, Service distribution systems,
• Shift - Day and Night

• Supervise five maintenance staff.
• Assist with HVAC troubleshooting and repairs.
• Coordinate system shutdowns and HVAC work with university staff.
• Identify repair needs and report to the chief engineer.
• Track inventory and prepare purchase requests.
• Work with university trades (electricians, plumbers, etc.).
• Support team and cover absences as needed.
