Position Title: Cook 2/ Culinary Enthusiast  Reports To: Sous Chef Position Status: Current open position JOB OVERVIEW The 2nd Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to the hotel’s standards, assisting senior chefs (like the Sous Chef or Chef de Partie), and ensuring smooth day-to-day kitchen operations in a high-quality hospitality environment.  POSITION SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines  * Maintain consistency, quality, and portion control across all dishes  * Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies for service  * Assist in daily prep, mise en place, and station organization  * Ensure proper food handling, storage, and labeling in compliance with food safety standards  * Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment, and storage areas  * Communicate effectively with leadership and team members during service and be able to take direction from 1st cooks and leadership daily.  * Assist with receiving, inspecting, and storing deliveries  * Support menu changes, features, and seasonal updates as directed by leadership  * Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail  QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: * Culinary diploma (2 years) plus one (1) year of hands-on industry experience. * Must have banquet and restaurant a la carte experience. * Completed cooks’ apprenticeship considered an asset.  * Positive, friendly and hospitality focused. * Attention to detail, organization, and time management skills required. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. * Must be able to complete tasks both independently and as a part of the team. * Available to work shifts during weekends and holidays.
