Description

The Company currently have vacancies for Second Engineers in its ERRV/MRV fleet.

Second Engineer is responsible for the following:

  • The operational status of the ship, its machinery, propulsion systems and technical equipment permanently installed on board, during his period on watch.
  • The safety of personnel within sphere of influence.
  • The maintenance of the vessel, machinery installed on board in a sound condition ready for operations.
  • Reporting any defects to the plant and machinery installed on board to the Chief Engineer.
  • Recognising stores requirements, spares and equipment for the Engine Department.
  • Monitoring safe working practices of shore contractors during periods of maintenance.
  • Examining and accepting stores and spares delivered to the vessel, and informing the Chief Engineer of any missing / outstanding items or items delivered in error.
  • Assisting in the fuelling procedure to ensure all precautions are being adhered to.
  • Actively promoting and progressing the company Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Policy.
  • Actively promoting inter-departmental communications.
