We are looking for Second Engineer ( watch keeper ) for MARELLA Cruises
Embarkation: 30/Nov/2025 and 01/March/2026

Responsibilities

In addition to those normal duties as outlined in the V.Ships VMS:

  • Keeping scheduled watches in the ECR (engine control room) and working in engine room
  • Reporting any machinery defects affecting safe and environmentally sound vessel operation
  • Ensuring all engine room safety equipment is in optimal condition
  • Conducting proactive maintenance and repairs
  • Creating requisitions and performs periodic inventory of spares and consumables related to area of responsibility
  • Updating the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) with clear records
  • Being directly in charge of particular groups of equipment, which can include air compressors, boilers, economisers, R.O. plants, evaporators, purifiers, and etc
  • Maintaining the working area clean, safe, and handling tools and equipment with care
  • Participating in emergency drills and responding to actual emergencies as per the Muster List
  • Adhering to all safety regulations and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during work activities
  • Adhering to and complying with all Company Policies and Procedures, Manuals and Directives
  • Performing duties and tasks according to above but not limited to that.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Attend passenger social events as directed by the Head of Department.
  • Partake in inspections, trainings and meetings as directed by the Head of Department.
  • Other shipboard tasks pertaining to departmental operations as directed by Head of Department.
  • Attending trainings and office visits arranged by V.Ships Leisure where possible
