Main Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging secondary Art & Design lessons that align with the Cambridge International Curriculum and Vietnamese national standards, covering drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, digital art, and art history where appropriate. Design differentiated learning experiences to support a range of abilities, backgrounds and learning styles, fostering creativity, technical skill and conceptual development. Develop and assess formative and summative tasks; provide clear, constructive feedback to promote artistic progress and reflective practice. Promote a safe, inclusive and inspiring studio environment that reflects VAS values of respect, participation and excellence, including safe use and storage of materials and equipment. Collaborate with colleagues across departments to create interdisciplinary projects and exhibitions that enrich the wider curriculum and school community. Contribute to school life through participation in events, displays, community projects and extra-curricular art clubs or societies. Maintain clear and professional communication with parents and carers about student progress, exhibitions and materials or resource needs. Lead or assist in at least one extra-curricular activity or club each week related to visual arts or creative enrichment. Ideal Candidate Profile Excellent Teaching and Artistic Skills: Proven ability to deliver inspiring, age-appropriate art lessons using a variety of media and contemporary practice. Relevant Academic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Fine Art, Art & Design, Art Education, or a related field; plus recognised teaching credentials (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent). Curriculum Expertise: Strong understanding of international secondary art frameworks, assessment for learning, and inclusive classroom practice. Digital and Practical Skills: Competence with digital art tools and familiarity with safe use of practical art equipment and materials. Personal and Professional Qualities Cultural Sensitivity: Respectful, adaptable attitude towards working within an international school community. Passion for Art Education: A genuine commitment to inspiring secondary students to develop artistic voice, confidence and critical thinking. Collaboration and Communication: Skilled in building positive relationships with students, families and colleagues from diverse backgrounds. Reflective and Growth-Oriented: Commitment to continuous professional learning and sharing best practice. Essential Criteria Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fine Art, Art & Design, Art Education, or an equivalent subject. Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or international equivalent). Minimum two years’ recent experience teaching Art at secondary school level. Excellent ICT skills and enthusiasm for integrating digital media into art teaching.
