In this role, you’ll help foster a culture of literacy, build strong relationships with staff, and support meaningful learning experiences that positively impact students every day.
EDUCATION LEVEL:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education required; Reading Specialist Degree preferred. Valid teaching license.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum 5 years of successful teaching experience at the 6th-12th grade level, preferably with demonstrated success in improving student literacy.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Strong knowledge of adolescent literacy, instructional coaching, and data-driven instruction. Experience leading professional development and/or facilitating PLCs. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
PROGRAM SUMMARY
The Secondary Literacy Coach is a key instructional leader who supports the implementation of effective literacy practices across all 6th-12th grade content areas and classrooms. The coach will lead and facilitate Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), provide targeted training for reading intervention teachers, and offer high-quality professional learning focused on embedding literacy strategies across the curriculum. This position is central to improving student literacy outcomes through data-driven instruction, collaborative planning, and ongoing teacher support.
