Description The math teacher must have the ability and desire to teach statistics and Geometry. The math teacher must communicate effectively through a relational approach, encouraging students to take risks in learning and demonstrate learning in innovative ways. The math teacher is a part of the secondary faculty and reports to the secondary principal. All faculty members are expected to contribute to chapel and other spiritual development activities and other duties as assigned. Major Responsibilities: Prepare appropriate weekly lesson plans, including instructional objectives, learning activities, and assessments integrated with biblical foundations Utilize appropriate educational technology Create and evaluate appropriate instructional and assessment methods to measure student learning Maintain appropriate pacing per the curriculum guide Advanced Placement courses may be assigned to this position; must be able to complete AP training as assigned Maintain a collaborative relationship with all members of the math department and other faculty Demonstrate the maturity to inspire student learning and understanding of the age group Maintain a positive classroom environment, conducive to learning yet open to questioning and participation Effectively communicate and partner with parents in the educational and spiritual development of students Support school initiatives and show support for student interests outside of the school day Requirements Requirements/Qualifications: Possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree in mathematics or related field Possess or be qualified to apply for a Professional Teaching Certificate from the Florida Department of Education Willingness to teach or be trained to teach Advanced Placement courses Exhibit a strong faith and exemplary lifestyle. Must be able to establish and maintain effective professional relationships Have experience using classroom technology, electronic resources, programs, and platforms Ability to accept direction and professional development Ability to exercise good judgment Background Check conducted through the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse (https://info.flclearinghouse.com) Preference will be given to applicants who are members of a congregation of the churches of Christ.
