Description Job Description: Secondary / Peming Position Summary The Secondary / Peming Specialist is responsible for performing secondary operations on manufactured parts, including hardware insertion, deburring, tapping, countersinking, and other finishing processes. This role ensures parts meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements prior to final assembly or shipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate hardware insertion (PEM) machines and other secondary operation equipment Install self-clinching fasteners, studs, nuts, and standoffs per engineering specifications Perform tapping, drilling, reaming, countersinking, and deburring operations Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and job travelers Inspect parts for proper hardware placement, alignment, and flushness Verify thread quality using gauges and inspection tools Maintain production output while meeting quality standards Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance issues Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE Maintain clean and organized work area (5S standards) Assist with other secondary or production tasks as needed Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred Previous manufacturing or sheet metal experience preferred Experience with PEM insertion equipment a plus Ability to read blueprints and understand hardware callouts Basic math and measurement skills Ability to use calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, and other inspection tools Strong attention to detail and quality Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs Repetitive hand and arm movements Frequent bending, reaching, and handling of metal components Work Environment Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, metal materials, and moving equipment Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Key Competencies Quality-focused mindset Mechanical aptitude Attention to detail Dependable and punctual Ability to work independently and as part of a team Pay Range: $20-$22/hour
