About the role The British International School of Kuala Lumpur is looking for a keen Performing Arts teacher to deliver Music & Drama lessons to students in Key Stage 3 from August 2026. Performing Arts is a huge department at BSKL with 24 full time members of staff and a further 12 visiting music teachers. There are 4 performing arts lessons a week in the key stage three curriculum; Dance, Drama, Music and practical instrumental Music. Students can go on to study Music & Drama at both IGCSE and A-Level and can also opt to take private instrumental lessons and study for instrumental exams. We are extremely well supported and encouraged in our passions by both management and parents. We put on a yearly musical, several drama productions, dance recitals and numerous concerts. Our students are both talented and keen which leads to a very high standard in all performances and great exam results. We have a wonderful theatre set up which is one of the best in Kuala Lumpur and regularly leased out on the weekends to visiting companies. Our school is a member of FOBISIA and we regularly attend Performing Arts Festivals in other parts of Malaysia and across South East Asia. We are also affiliated with The Juilliard School in New York and sometimes get the opportunity to visit.
