JOB OVERVIEW

We are actively seeking an enthusiastic Secondary School Teacher specializing in Integrated Sciences in the MYP (Middle Years Programme) of the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum with experience teaching Chemistry and / or Physics in the DP (Diploma Program). Knowledge of all sciences is preferred.
The right candidate will also recognise that excellent pastoral care is also essential to student development, and be willing to support this in non-curricular roles such as homeroom teacher or during self directed learning times as an advisor or coach.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Chemistry, Physics, Sciences. Master’s degree is advantageous.
  • Teaching certification with a focus on the Sciences and knowledge of the MYP and DP (IB) curriculum.
  • Minimum 2 years proven experience in teaching secondary school Sciences (Knowledge of all sciences is preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of the International Baccalaureate curriculum and assessment practices.
  • Experience working in international schools.
  • Experience with MYP eAssessment(desirable) and preparing students for DP exams.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver MYP Integrated Science lessons using active learning strategies that promote inquiry-based learning. Knowledge of all sciences is preferred.
  • Foster a dynamic and inclusive learning environment that promotes curiosity and critical thinking.
  • Assess student progress using the MYP science criterion and Integrated eAssessment approach, and provide constructive feedback to students on their development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary projects and activities.
  • Teach IB Diploma Programme Physics and Chemistry, with a thorough understanding of the DP syllabus and exam preparation.
  • Design assessments in line with IB standards and provide constructive feedback to support student progress.
  • Foster an engaging, inclusive, and collaborative classroom environment.
  • Use a variety of instructional methods to support students with different learning styles.
  • Monitor and report on students’ progress, including preparation for MYP eAssessments and DP final exams.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Science department, contributing to interdisciplinary projects and school-wide initiatives.
  • Engage in extra-curricular activities and school events as part of the broader school community.
  • Manage classroom behavior to ensure an effective learning environment for all students
  • Support students proactively in reaching their learning and approaches to learning goals
  • To regularly measure, record and share student progress
  • Be familiar with data regarding the academic and pastoral progress of their students

  • Be an active participant of the Sciences Department and plan and execute events and workshops for students that support the school’s strategic goals.
