JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Teacher to join our dynamic educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and enhancing student engagement. This role requires proficiency in various subjects, including English and Law first semester. Challenge and Change in Society, Canadian History and Civics and Careers second semester. The teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, assessing student progress, and supporting diverse learning needs.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; teaching certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in classroom teaching or tutoring; experience working with children is essential.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively in a busy classroom environment.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Leadership qualities that inspire students and foster a collaborative classroom atmosphere.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Teach secondary school subjects.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and respects diverse backgrounds.
  • Assess student performance through assignments, tests, and projects; provide constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Utilize technology effectively, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), to enhance teaching methods and communication with students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and share best practices in teaching.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with students, parents, and staff regarding academic progress and behavioral issues.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and methodologies.
  • Support students with special education needs or disabilities by adapting teaching methods accordingly.
