Description
Closing Date: 04/06/2026 Contract Type: Permanent Salary: £28,927 - £43,562 Hours: 28 per week At McLaren High School, we are committed to excellence in education and the holistic development of our young people. With a team of highly professional teaching and support staff, we set high expectations for our pupils, working in partnership with parents to challenge, support, and inspire them. Our school community is built on the core values of Inclusivity, Community, Kindness, and Growth, ensuring that every pupil is empowered to succeed, develop confidence, and become a responsible global citizen.  We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Teacher of Home Economics who will ensure our young people are provided with the very best opportunities to develop, deliver the highest standards of learning and teaching, contribute to the positive learning environment within our Learning and Development spaces and provide targeted learning support to young people who will benefit from this.  The ideal candidate will be confident, articulate, and creative, with the ability to motivate and inspire others while ensuring the faculty meets the diverse needs of McLaren High School’s young people. Strong organisational skills, the ability to meet tight deadlines, and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential. McLaren High School is located in one of the most beautiful parts of Scotland, on the southern edge of Callander—an easy commute from the Central Belt, just 25 minutes from Stirling and 45 minutes from Glasgow. Please note that although the application process allows the uploading of a CV (resume), this is not a requirement for teaching posts and if submitted will not be taken into account during shortlisting to ensure a consistent approach for assessing all candidates. You should instead fully answer the question section with all relevant experience and skills. The successful candidate will be required to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) for Children.  If your application is progressed after the interview, you will be asked to complete the form and have your details verified. If you’ve got the right skills for the job we want to hear from you. We encourage applications from the right candidates regardless of age (restrictions apply to Modern Apprenticeships), disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, belief or race.  Job Description [https://www.stirling.gov.uk/media/muuki1x0/secondary_teacher-home_economics_mclaren_bt_01042026.pdf] Teacher Additional Information [https://www.stirling.gov.uk/media/niof4toc/teachers-additional-information.pdf] Stirling Information [https://www.stirling.gov.uk/media/arjfm1fz/stirling-council-recruitment-pack.pdf]
