Responsibilities:
ABOUT US AND THE ROLE
Do you have a passion for education and a desire to support young people in achieving their full potential? We’re on the lookout for a Secondary Teaching Assistant to join our committed team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of students.
In this role, you will work under the guidance of classroom teachers to support teaching and learning activities. By assisting with the organisation and management of pupils and the classroom, you will play a pivotal role in creating a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
You will work closely with students, offering tailored support to individuals and groups, helping to maintain a purposeful and supportive classroom atmosphere. By promoting equal opportunities, you will ensure all students can access the resources they need to succeed. Contributing to the pastoral care and wellbeing of pupils, you will provide assistance when they are unwell, distressed, or need additional encouragement.
Your responsibilities will also include assisting teachers in preparing and maintaining resources, supporting the delivery of lessons, and offering constructive feedback on pupils’ progress. Additionally, you will accompany students on trips and activities, fostering their personal and social development in line with the school’s ethos.

Avanti Fields School is an all-through, faith-designated (Hindu) state school which welcomed the first intake of Year 7 students in September 2018, and first intake of Nursery and Reception students in September 2022. WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Work with individuals and groups of children to deliver learning programmes and encourage interaction in activities led by the teacher.
- Assist with general pastoral care and attend to personal needs as appropriate.
- Supervise children during non-lesson times, accompany on trips, participate in meetings and training
- Feedback on child progress in meeting Individual Education Plan targets
