New Directions is currently recruiting confident and proactive Teaching Assistants to support learning in secondary schools across Cardiff. These roles are ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with young people and keen to gain experience in a classroom environment.
As a Secondary TA, you’ll be working alongside teachers to support pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to assist in specific subject areas (e.g., English, Maths, Science), provide targeted intervention, or support students with additional needs.

Responsibilities
  • Support pupils in lessons, ensuring they stay on task and understand content
  • Provide 1:1 or small group intervention, including SEN or EAL support
  • Assist teachers with lesson delivery, resource preparation, and classroom management
  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement in line with school policies
  • Support the pastoral and academic development of pupils across year groups
