Description Secondary Technology Teacher 2026-2027 Thornton, CO Description Teachers are responsible for the education of each student in accordance with the principles established by the school and stakeholders. We’re looking for a dedicated professional who wants to provide students with an exemplary education within the specific Colorado State of Education licensed content area and curriculum. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility in a satisfactory manner while possessing a keen understanding of the needs of students as well as an appreciation for their common struggles and issues. Therefore, commitment to the school and its mission is essential. This is a 9 month position and the salary range is from $58,000.00 - $92,820.00 depending on experience and education level. Requirements Requirements Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for conducting an organized and professional classroom. Teach middle school and high school technology classes according to curriculum guidelines, best practices for gifted learners and common core standards. Current courses taught include AP Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Programming, and Engineering. Courses are subject to change from year to year, within the subject area. Further develop a high-level, challenging curriculum in the subject area. Maintain ongoing curriculum evaluation and development to meet the needs of gifted and diverse students. Collaborate with other faculty in the delivery of appropriate instructional approaches, working to serve the various learning styles and needs of students. Implement curriculum and instruction in a manner consistent with Stargate's Mission Statement and best practice for gifted learners, including understanding, modeling and fostering independent thinking skills, creative problem solving and abstract reasoning. Differentiate based on students' needs and interests. Show empathy and understanding of students. Share ideas and observations with students and parents. Develop a cooperative partnership with parents and students based on mutual respect and objectivity. Assess student performance frequently and objectively. Ability to assess grade level needs and plan and organize accordingly. Facilitate resolution of problems that might arise with students and parents. Holds parent/student/teacher conferences in a manner consistent with Stargate's Community Handbook. Continue intellectual and professional development in primary academic discipline and gifted education. Follows policies established by Stargate Administration, Board of Directors, Adams 12 School District, and Colorado State mandated school guidelines, except where Stargate has received waivers. Participate in the planning and execution of enrichment activities including grade level events, field trips, and overnight experiences. May provide leadership to select extracurricular school activities, act as the teacher liaison to select committees. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
