ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT

This selection procedure is intended to establish a reserve list of successful candidates. It is envisaged to start using the reserve list in Q2/Q3 of 2025.
Europol retains the right to make use of the reserve list to select candidates for similar secondments within the organisation, should business needs require so.

Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE SECONDMENT:

The SNE will contribute to the delivery of operational products and services foreseen in the Europol Work Programme in the area child sexual exploitation (AP Twins on computer forensics.

FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

The SNE will carry out the following main functions and duties:

  • Provide expert knowledge and support for operational activities targeting cybercriminal activities related to child sexual exploitation;
  • Conduct (advanced) forensic analysis on variety of devices (laptops, mobile phones, storage devices…);
  • Manage operational data through the processes of extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL);
  • Perform research and assess all source intelligence, including OSINT, with a focus on cybercriminal tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs);
  • Actively participate in Joint Investigation Teams (JITs);
  • Identify, initiate, and assist in producing both operational and strategic analytical outputs, along with other relevant intelligence products;
  • Prepare reports based on information highlighting opportunities for collaboration between Europol and Member States on specific intelligence and information-sharing initiatives;
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with designated external members of the Analysis Unit, Member States and Third Parties’ Liaison Officers to foster and support operational activities within the focal point’s scope;
  • Participate in stand-by duty as and when required;
  • Deliver training to Member States and internally within the organisation;
  • Perform any other duties in the area of competence as assigned by the management.
