Description Leitner Williams Dooley Napolitan, PLLC, is seeking a legal secretary for its Knoxville office. LWDN is a long-established defense firm with a national reputation that offers employees experience with some of the best attorneys in the country. The firm has offices in Knoxville, Chattanooga, Nashville and Memphis. Our Knoxville office is located in Riverview Tower, in the heart of downtown Knoxville. Requirements Job Duties: Produce and professionally convey sensitive case information by transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, and transmitting text, data, and graphics. Conserve attorneys time by reading, researching, reviewing, verifying, and routing correspondence, reports and legal documents; drafting letters and documents; collecting and analyzing information; initiating telecommunications; organizing client conferences and attorney meetings; scheduling couriers, court reporters, expert witnesses, and other special functions; coordinating preparation of charts, graphs, and other courtroom visuals; preparing expense reports. Maintain attorney calendars by planning and scheduling conferences, teleconferences, and travel; recording and monitoring court appearance dates, pleadings, and filing requirements; monitoring evidence-gathering; anticipating changes in litigation or transaction preparation requirements. Represent attorneys by communicating and obtaining information; following-up on delegated assignments; use discretion to decide when to act and when to refer matters to attorneys. Assist in revenue generation by documenting and inputting attorney billable time and reimbursable expenses; preparing invoices; tracking payments. Skill Requirements: Microsoft applications for PC, transcription, documentation, knowledge of legal documents and terminology, accurate typing speed of 50 wpm, working collaboratively with attorneys, staff and clients, strong organization and multitasking, meeting planning, telephone, verbal and written communication, dependability, professionalism, client relationship, confidentiality
Responsibilities
The legal secretary will manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and handle travel arrangements while maintaining court appearance dates and filing requirements.
