Balfour Beatty Highways is seeking a Section Engineer to join our team on the A57 Link Road scheme. As part of our Highways business, you’ll play a key role in maintaining, managing, and operating major highway networks across the UK. What you’ll be doing
We are looking for a Section Engineer to lead and manage a section of works so you will be responsible for guiding a team of Site Engineers and Graduate/Apprentice Engineers, ensuring high standards of quality and performance are met.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and supervise the team in all aspects of site works.
  • Perform complex setting out and coach team members on best practices.
  • Develop and manage Activity Control Plans.
  • Reference and implement specifications for all tasks.
  • Maintain accurate quality records and filing systems.
  • Identify, raise, and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Address and resolve Technical Queries with proposed solutions.
  • Produce Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
  • Conduct short-term visitor inductions.
  • Develop weekly programmes and track progress against KPIs.
  • Communicate weekly targets and progress to the workforce.
  • Track weekly measure information and monitor waste against budget/KPIs.
  • Conduct labour and plant reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with subcontractor and supplier terms and conditions.
  • Contribute to shaping major projects with a focus on quality and design specifications.
  • Share expertise to mentor and develop junior engineers.
