SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in securities lending operations.
  • Working knowledge of equity and fixed income settlements in EMEA and US markets including market specific nuances and SWIFT formats.
  • Strong understanding of the trade life cycle, including collateral management, triparty, corporate actions, cash management and billings procedures.
  • Robust understanding of risk & control environment with ability to mitigate operational risks.
  • Previous experience in projects and delivering change into the production environment
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with senior management and external clients

Responsibilities

ROLE SUMMARY

Marex are seeking a Securities Financing Subject Matter Expert to join their growing team in London.
You will play a crucial role in supporting the company’s Equities and Repo trade operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include providing expert knowledge on securities lending, managing margining collateral processes, handling billings and settlements, overseeing corporate actions and static data.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for a range of operational tasks – Exposure management, Billings, Transaction support, corporate action booking and queries, reporting queries, break investigation and resolution, exception processing.
  • Responsible for the instruction and monitoring of equity and fixed income settlements within EMEA and US markets for Securities Finance and Market Making businesses
  • Daily reconciliation and resolution of Position breaks. Take full ownership of position breaks assigned to you to clear on T+1. Escalate and follow up with other internal teams/external custodians appropriately.
  • Daily cash and transactional reconciliations. Full ownership and reconciliation of cash breaks (dividend, interest, trade settlement cash etc) assigned to you. Identify recurring break types and work with IT and external custodians to resolve at source. Working to resolve in a timely manner with minimum impact to the client.
  • Mailbox management to include responding to queries from internal teams relating to breaks, account setups, reporting and ad hoc queries
  • Ensure client reporting is accurate and distributed in a timely manner with correct holdings for margin purposes
  • Ensuring compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the FCA, NFA, AMF, AFM, MAS – and any other relevant regulatory body.
  • Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.

  • At all times complying with the FCA’s Code of Conduct and Marex’s Code of Conduct
  • To ensure that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility
