Employment Status: Full time Shift: Day/Evening (United States of America) Facility: 1906 Belleview Ave SE - Roanoke Requisition Number: R156176 SECURITY & ACCESS SYSTEM TECH (Open) How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare: Monitoring electronic systems for security surveillance, parking and access control for Carilion facilities. Collaborate with management, staff, factory representatives and contractors to coordinate and implement effective solutions to Carilion's security, parking and access control needs. Inspects and/or installs electronic systems for fire detection, security surveillance, and parking and access control for Carilion facilities. Ensures proper networking of hardware and software products. Additionally, installs supportive equipment such as equipment racks, CCTV cameras, card access readers, magnetic/electronic locks, security gates, alarm points, etc. Inspects, troubleshoots and repairs system equipment. As needed, consults with internal staff and outside vendors to resolve issues. Inspects, troubleshoots and repairs system equipment. Updates employee access through data entry of access cards, access levels and security access codes on a daily basis. Remains current on latest electronic systems and trends in fire detection, security surveillance and parking and access control. Makes recommendations for system enhancements and/or cost containment. Consistently deliver the best in customer service and patient care. Champion Carilion's mission, vision, and values; comply with the policies and procedures, ethical standards and code of conduct set forth by the company. #lawenforcement What We Require: Education:Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with advanced course work in computers, electronics and/or electricity preferred. Experience:Five years experience in the installation of electronic systems for fire detection, security surveillance, parking and access control required. Licensure,certification, and/or registration:Certified from Department of Criminal Justice Services as an Electronic Security Technician or ability to obtain within one year. Must possess, or be able to obtain prior to hire date, a valid Virginia Drivers License. Other MinimumQualifications: Must possess a driving record within the scope of Carilions Driver Regulations. Demonstrates good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to apply concepts of basic electricity and of electronic component theory. Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics. Ability to apply concepts of alarm systems operations. Knowledge of basic fire codes related to security and egress. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Must possess computer knowledge/skills of Windows and Dos or be able to obtain within the first year. Knowledge of SQL database helpful. Cisco network and factory access control courses must be successfully completed within the first year. Must be able to maintain confidential information.
