We currently have an opportunity for a Security Advisor to join our Commercial and Risk team and to support enterprise security compliance and Defence-related security activities for Downer Professional Services This role plays a key part in managing and maintaining compliance with the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) while supporting security governance, risk management, and operational assurance across the business. Reporting to a Senior Security Advisor, you will be responsible for managing enterprise security activities, ensuring compliance with DISP requirements, and supporting the coordination of security clearances and assurance processes. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, government agencies, and Defence security partners to maintain a strong and compliant security posture. What You’ll Do This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including: * Manage DISP compliance activities, including reporting and annual security obligations * Maintain and administer security clearance registers and related processes * Conduct security risk assessments and support mitigation strategies * Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation * Deliver security awareness training and support incident investigations What You’ll Bring * Demonstrated experience in a security advisory role within Defence or government environments * Strong knowledge of DISP, DSPF, PSPF or ISM frameworks and compliance requirements * Proven experience managing security clearances and maintaining security registers * Ability to conduct security risk assessments and support incident investigations * High attention to detail with strong organisational skills in a fast-paced environment * Defence security clearance More than anything, you’ll bring a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for our clients.
