Genesys Cloud Security Operations is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Security Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be a key contributor to our vulnerability management program, ensuring the security of our cloud-native AWS infrastructure. You will leverage a variety of security tools to perform software composition analysis (SCA), static application security testing (SAST), vulnerability scanning, and cloud security posture management (CSPM). Your ability to analyze code, track and remediate vulnerabilities and findings, understand AWS services, and collaborate with cross-functional teams will be crucial to your success. What you will do:

Vulnerability Management

  • Conduct regular vulnerability scans using automated scanning tools.
  • Analyze scan results, prioritize vulnerabilities, and track remediation efforts.
  • Collaborate with service teams to ensure timely patching and mitigation of identified vulnerabilities.
  • Participate in quarterly vulnerability scanning cycles.

Code and Infrastructure Security

  • Review code and AWS CloudFormation templates for security misconfigurations using SAST and SCA tools.
  • Contribute to change management processes by evaluating security implications of proposed changes.
  • Utilize AWS security services to assess and improve infrastructure security.
  • Utilize CSPM tools to identify and remediate cloud security misconfigurations.

Vulnerability Analysis and Research

  • Stay up-to-date on emerging vulnerabilities and security threats, with a primary focus on their impact to our vulnerability posture.
  • Conduct research to understand the impact of vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Proactively identify and propose improvements to security processes and tools.

Change Management

  • Actively participate in change management processes, evaluating the security impact of proposed infrastructure and application changes.
  • Review and approve change requests, ensuring that security best practices are followed.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Work closely with development, operations, and other security teams to ensure a cohesive security posture.
  • Clearly communicate vulnerability findings, CSPM findings, and remediation recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Document procedures, and findings.

Compliance

  • Understand & comply with PCI, HIPAA Security and Privacy Laws Adhere to Genesys Code of Business Conduct and Ethics

What you will bring to the role:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in vulnerability management, preferably in cloud security.
  • Strong understanding of AWS services and security best practices.
  • Ability to read and understand code in common programming languages.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Hungry to learn, and improve processes.
  • Self sufficient.
  • Effective multi-tasker.
  • Strong organization skills.

Desirable experience with:

  • Fundamental skillset of automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys).
  • Familiarity with SAST, SCA, CSPM tooling.
  • Infrastructure as Code (e.g., AWS CloudFormation).
  • Git providers (e.g., Github, Bitbucket).
  • Linux servers.
  • Logging/SIEM solutions (e.g., Splunk, SumoLogic).
  • ITSM solutions like JIRA.
  • Documentation solutions (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint).

One or more of the following certifications/degrees would be an advantage, but not required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security – Specialty, AWS Solutions Architect).
  • Other cloud security certifications (e.g., Certified Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK), CompTIA Security+).
