Roles & Responsibilities

Job Description: 


We are looking for an L1 Security Operations Engineer to provide 24 7 first-line monitoring and operational support for enterprise security infrastructure. The role is responsible for monitoring security tools, validating alarms, performing initial troubleshooting, logging and managing incidents, and escalating complex issues while ensuring SLA compliance. Key Responsibilities Monitor security tools, dashboards, alarms, and incidents on a 24 7 basis. Perform alarm triage, event validation, and initial incident assessment. Log, update, assign, and track incidents through the ticketing system. Follow approved SOPs, runbooks, and operational procedures for standard incident handling. Perform basic health checks on firewalls, VPNs, and other security devices. Verify device availability, interface/link status, VPN connectivity, session status, and basic policy impact. Conduct first-level troubleshooting and resolve routine operational issues. Escalate unresolved, complex, or high-severity incidents to L2, OEM, or relevant support teams. Support implementation of approved operational changes following established procedures. Maintain accurate incident records, shift handover documentation, and operational logs. Assist in preparing SLA, availability, and incident performance reports. Coordinate with NOC, Service Desk, Customer Operations, and third-party vendors to ensure timely incident resolution. Ensure compliance with operational processes, escalation matrices, and SLA requirements.

Desired Candidate Profile

    • Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. 1 3 years of experience in SOC, NOC, Security Operations, or Network Security Support. Basic understanding of firewalls, VPNs, routing, switching, and network security concepts. Familiarity with monitoring tools, ticketing systems, and security operations workflows. Knowledge of incident management, escalation processes, and ITIL-based service operations. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work in a 24 7 shift environment. Good communication, documentation, and coordination skills. Preferred Certifications CompTIA Security+ Cisco CCNA Fortinet FCA/FCP (Preferred) Palo Alto PCCET or PCNSA (Preferred) ITIL Foundation
