EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • 1 year of experience in a security control room/dispatch environment.
  • Possess intermediate level computer application knowledge.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification will be considered an asset.
  • Ability to manage critical events and prioritize in an emergency, providing clear direction in operational, safety, and environmental tasks.
  • Punctuality, discipline, and sound judgement are critical in this environment.

Responsibilities

Communication Agents work in a fast-paced environment evaluating and dispatching appropriate units to calls for service for the Ice District, including Rogers Place and OEG Sports & Entertainment, while maintaining the day-to-day operations of the Security Control Room. Agents will monitor and control various equipment and technology to support in the deterrent of undesired activity and to help to maintain a safe and welcoming environment within the Ice District and venues.

Core Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Monitor, operate, and control computerized safety systems, including CCTV, on a continuous basis during normal and event operations.
  • Coordinate response to incidents by taking appropriate corrective actions and communicating status of safety systems to various personnel to ensure that they conclude the incidents in a manner that meets operational, environmental, and safety commitments.
  • Liaise with Emergency Responders, 911 Dispatch, and 24/7 Crisis Diversion (211) to request and direct resources in a concise and efficient manner.
  • Maintain constant watch over all operating equipment through monitoring control room instrumentation, computer screens and alarms, ensuring that the equipment is performing according to prescribed characteristics for a safe and efficient operation.
  • Utilize the various department-approved reporting methods to accurately record and log all appropriate incidents and logs as required for normal operations, incident response, and property tracking.
  • Work in collaboration with the Shipping & Receiving Administrator to assist guests, visitors, contractors, and internal departments with access control.
  • Support Event Command as an Event Dispatcher or Event CCTV Operator in a proficient manner.
  • Assist guests, visitors, contractors, and internal departments with access through electronic and key-based access control systems
