CITY OF WORCESTER
The City of Worcester is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Security Compliance Manager for the Department of Public Facilities. Under the direction of the Deputy Chief of Public Facilities, the Security Compliance Manager is responsible for the supervision of assigned employees, development and revision of facility security plans, coordination of security plans and activities with local police personnel, monitoring security activities of various City facilities, reviewing incident reports, establishing and conducting training for departmental and City personnel, managing and coordinating schedules of security personnel based on the needs of assigned facilities and/or planned events, and ensuring consistent security operations across assigned locations.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to act calmly and with composure in difficult situations
- Ability to proactively diffuse and deescalate situations
- Ability to prepare meaningful, concise and accurate reports
- Ability to define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to multi-task security operations for multiple public facilities with varying infrastructures and needs
- Must possess excellent observation skills, focus, and attention to detail
- Must possess strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
- High level of professionalism and commitment to the organization
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge with physical security systems, access control systems, security cameras, and alarms
- Knowledge of emergency response planning and incident management
- Ability to adapt to changing security threats and technologies.
- Ability and willingness to adjust work schedule based upon the needs of the division.
- Regular on-site attendance is required
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in security management, criminal justice, or related field
- Any equivalent combination of education & four (4) years of relevant experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the required duties of the position may be considered in lieu of the above-mentioned requirement
- Five (5) years of experience in security, law enforcement, or public safety, with a strong understanding of security principles and practices
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience
- Ability to successfully pass a CORI/SORI background check
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three (3) years of experience in security management and/or supervision
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP) Certification
- Prior law enforcement and/or military experience
- Three (3) years of experience in a customer-facing role
- Two (2) years of experience in incident management and emergency response planning
SALARY RANGE: $100,516 - $109,408 annually, exempt, full-time, excellent benefits package.
