JOB DESCRIPTION

Barber Collins Security is looking to hire a specialized security guard / Concierge with a minimum 2 years security guard experience who will rotate between 2 security sites in waterloo region.

• Guaranteed 80 hours per 2 weeks
• Will be required to work mostly 8 hour day shifts but could be required to work 12 hr day shifts and 12 hour night shifts on relatively short notice as staffing needs require.
• sites include educational research facility as well as a corporate estate site located 20 minutes north of Waterloo.
• joint duties include Operating and monitoring CCTV, Card Access control, Burglar alarms, Building mechanical management systems
• Concierge / front reception desk duties
• key control
• Medical first aid response
• General outdoor and interior patrols
• Sign in guests, visitors and employees

• Qualifications and requirements
• 2 years proven experience as a security guard
• Valid Ontario Security Guard license.
• Valid first aid and CPR certification
• Must have a valid Drivers license and own a car as one of the sites is 20 minutes north of Waterloo
• Must be flexible to work various shifts including days , nights and weekends on short notice.
• Familiarity with report writing
• Excellent surveillance and observation skills
• Tech-savvy with experience in surveillance systems and CCTV operation and Access control software
• Previous experience with Use of force and de-escalation techniques

Pay: $22.40 per hour
