Description

IXP Corporation is seeking a motivated and skilled mid-level consultant to work under the direction of the Director of Security Services in support of our corporate, higher education, and medical system clients. The ideal candidate will be an early to mid-career professional with a strong desire to learn the IXP methodology used to assess and identify solutions that allow them to solve their public safety challenges. You will work on a variety of projects, including security technology assessments, security designs, and emergency response planning. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals looking to expand their expertise in physical security, risk management, and security consulting.

Some of the engagements IXP performs include:

  • Conducting physical security assessments to evaluate facility security risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Identifying and analyzing security threats and providing recommendations for mitigation and risk reduction.
  • Assisting in developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and emergency response plans.
  • Support clients in achieving compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., CPTED, NFPA, OSHA, DHS guidelines).
  • Assisting in designing and implementing physical security systems, including access control, surveillance, perimeter protection, and alarm systems.
  • Staying updated with the latest trends, threats, and technologies in physical security to provide expert advice to clients.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Risk Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2-5 years of experience in physical security, security consulting, or a related domain.
  • Experience with physical security assessments, access control, and security infrastructure.
  • A familiarity with security technologies such as video surveillance, electronic access control systems, biometric systems, and intrusion detection.
  • Knowledge of security design principles, CPTED methodologies, and emergency planning.
  • Relevant security certifications (e.g., PSP, CPP, PMP, CPTED certification), while not required, are a plus. IXP believes in developing our professionals through work experience and industry certifications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Above average technical and assessment writing abilities.

Essential Functions

  • Working on physical security and technology assessment projects at our client sites. The clients we provide this service for include Higher Education, Healthcare, Corporate Campuses, and local governments.
  • Managing projects to ensure they are delivered on time and within the budget.
  • Conducting research and analysis on security technology.
  • Keeping up with industry trends on protecting people and facilities.
  • Writing in-depth analysis reports that detail the company’s findings and recommendations as part of an assessment.
  • Identifying opportunities within the client to add additional consulting services.
  • Assisting, as directed, within our managed services locations.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
  • The company’s client base spans the contiguous United States. Candidates should be able to drive longer distances and not have any issues with air travel.
  • Travel can be expected up to 75% of the time, depending on current projects.
