Learn more at experianplc.com. Job Description We are looking for a Security Controls Intern to help ensure the effectiveness of our security controls. You will review, test, and document control activities using data-driven techniques to support compliance and risk management efforts. Responsibilities: Participate in security control reviews and help test control activities, using data from security tools to capture evidence. You will help identify potential gaps in controls and support recommendations for improvement. Help document observations, including root cause analysis and applicable remediation steps, and help prepare reports on control performance. Follow established testing methodologies and apply data-driven techniques to support security control reviews. You will collaborate with team members and partners to understand how controls align with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Pursue a degree in computer science, management information systems or relevant field. Interest in information security, cybersecurity and risk management. Familiarity with basic security concepts or openness to learn. Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks e.g., NIST 800-53, ISO 27001/27002, CIS Controls, COBIT. English proficiency of at least B2. Be available 36 hours of the week for the internship. Be enrolled in the university for the next 9 months of the internship. Be available to start in May 2026. You will receive a subsidy of $1,000 a month for the 9-month internship. Additional Information This is a home-based internship in Costa Rica. No relocation available.
