DESCRIPTION

The Security Coordinator will support planning and delivery of Games-wide security operations, covering safety management, risk and emergency planning, and stakeholder coordination. Responsibilities include liaison with venues and venue contractors, other Games Functional Areas and wider partners and stakeholders. The role holder will assist in the development of security resource mapping, recruitment, deployment, and training, and will ensure effective communication and consistency of approach amongst all contributing parties.
Working arrangements
The role will commence in the Organising Company’s Glasgow city centre office, with visits required to competition venues to fully deliver the responsibilities of the role. The location for the role will transition to be based at a competition venue as we approach the Games.
The role will be contracted for 40 hours per week, with requirements to be in the office aligned to the Organising Company’s planned working pattern. All travel to your place of work will be at your own cost. During the Games operational period, shift patterns are likely to be required which could include weekends.

EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in supporting and implementing security operational planning for large-scale, multi-venue international sporting events (such as Commonwealth Games, Olympic Games, World Cups, or Expos)
  • Experience collaborating directly across a range of functional areas, to manage multiple and varied security requests and to collate integrated venue security and emergency management plans.
  • Experience in collating and managing large datasets such as workforce schedules.
  • Experience in coordinating holistic planning items such as registration, welfare, shift-management, asset distribution and reclaim, and briefing materials to support optimum delivery standards across safety and security work-streams including external contractors.
  • Experience in supporting security teams and contractors during live event phases, including facilitating daily briefings, incident management, and coordination with event control rooms.
Responsibilities
  • Contribute to detailed planning for Games-wide Security Operations including but not limited to:
  • Security & Safety Management Plan
  • Crowd Management Plan and Emergency Management Plan
  • Risk Management plans
  • Service Level Agreements
  • Contingency Plans and Security Policies & Procedures. Planning will be in alignment with the Organising Company security principles, threat levels, legislative requirements (including the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Bill) and coordinated stakeholder integrated planning principles.
  • Collation of venue-specific standards, policies and procedures to assure consistency of approach and alignment with Commonwealth Games Standards.
  • Collation of venue Risk Assessments, monitoring risk mitigation strategies in accordance with Risk Management Plans, assuring consistency across venues and compliance with minimum standards.
  • Coordination with internal departments on integration of security processes including but not limited to health & safety, transport and logistics, access control, overlay and scheduling teams.
  • Coordinate procurement of security infrastructure and equipment as required and in alignment with venue plans, Games-wide security strategy and service level agreements.
  • Coordinate venue security resource mapping, headcount planning, recruitment, training and deployment, scheduling, including related supplier contracting and management.
  • Contribute to complex stakeholder matrices, prioritising establishment of effective communication channels, reporting structures, and collaborative, integrated planning.
  • Contribute to working groups / committees established to promote integrated operational design and planning of venue security operations with internal and external stakeholders.
