Description
We’re looking for a Security Dispatcher I, someone who’s ready to grow with our company. This role coordinates security operations and also manages service calls related to facility operations. Monitors and responds to automated building system alarms including fire protection, medical air/gas, refrigeration, pneumatic tube, access control, burglar alarm, infant abduction, duress alarm systems, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), and utility systems in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and regulatory agency codes. Dispatches and processes work orders in computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to accurately document services requested, and actions taken to ensure customer satisfaction. Plays a key role in maintaining the safety and security of our Texas Children's Hospital environment and ensuring the smooth operation of facility services. Think you’ve got what it takes? Job Duties & Responsibilities Serve as the central point of contact for all security and facility-related issues. Monitor security systems and respond promptly to alarms, incidents, and emergencies. Monitoring of Building Automation Systems (BAS) for fire protection, medical air/gas, refrigeration, pneumatic tube, and other utility systems and promptly respond to alerts or malfunctions. Monitors access control, surveillance systems, burglar alarm, infant abduction, and duress alarm systems Monitors systems that alert Texas Children's Hospital of any issue regarding public safety. Responds promptly and appropriately to all forms of Texas Children's Hospital communications including but not limited to pagers, radios, phone, e-mail messages, and verbal and written communications. Coordinate with security personnel to assess and address security threats or breaches. Communicate with law enforcement, fire, and medical emergency services as needed. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of security & facility incidents and actions taken. Dispatch maintenance and or security personnel to address building & security maintenance and repair requests. Coordinate with various departments to ensure timely response to security or facility-related emergencies. Communicate effectively with vendors and contractors for scheduled maintenance and repairs. Use two-way radios, phone systems, and other communication tools to relay information to appropriate personnel. Keep leadership informed during critical incidents and emergencies. Work closely with security, maintenance, and staff to address and resolve issues promptly. Stay current on security and facility management best practices Ensures that all equipment are functional at the beginning of shift and during all shifts and reports any variances to management. Participate in training sessions to enhance dispatching skills and knowledge Participates in all hospital and departmental training as required by leadership. Performs other duties as required for the Texas Children's Hospital within expectations established by management Adheres to departmental dress code and maintains professional appearance. Skills & Requirements Required H.S. Diploma or equivalent Required 2 years Related dispatch experience or, Security, military, TCOLE Tele communicator, police or facilities (mechanical, electrical, or controls, etc) experience Preferred Experience Preferred prior hospital experience with additional education or experience in security, facilities service coordination, or a related field.
