Amazon’s Healthcare Security organization is currently hiring for a Security Engineer to help lead a team of security engineers tackling challenging AI security problems at scale. Successful candidates for this position must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be self-driven, and deliver high quality results in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone who takes pride in meaningful work that will improve healthcare outcomes for customers.

In this role:

• You will conduct security research on AI-powered mechanisms for discovering and protecting customer data and applications at scale, effectively and efficiently.
• You will ensure security of agentic workflows.
• You will develop automated systems integrated into Amazon’s security infrastructure.
• You will research and prototype new security solutions, evaluating design approaches for technical feasibility.

The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge in Generative AI, Machine Learning, secure software development, experience designing and implementing security controls for agentic workloads, high judgment to prioritize and address security risks, and experience holding high standards for security controls and work products.

Key job responsibilities

• Own the security of AI workloads building protections that enable secure development of Amazon’s healthcare services and continue to protect customer data.
• Partner with engineering leaders in Amazon Health Services to securely implement AI and agentic services.
• Work closely with your customers, partner teams, and foundational engineering teams to ensure the needs of your customers are clearly understood and effectively addressed.
• Drive adoption and integration of Amazon’s paved path security solutions across subsidiaries.
• Recruit, coach, develop, and scale a team of world class security engineers, providing strategic and tactical oversight to maintain a motivated, innovative, and effective team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of experience planning, designing, developing, and delivering consumer software services
• 3+ years experience implementing security controls for software services
• Foundational understanding of AI and how agentic AI functions
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience and stakeholders

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience building software services and security controls in a regulated industry
• 5+ years of experience building large modular systems

  Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
