Description

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Basic knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloud security practices.
  • 1+ year of hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
  • Experience with Git version control and secure development workflows.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD processes (GitLab CI/CD or similar tools is a plus).
  • Curiosity, attention to detail, and the drive to continuously improve our security posture.
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

At NewStore, we take a security-first approach to everything we build. We’re looking for a Security Engineer to join our team and help keep our cloud environments safe and resilient. You’ll work hands-on with AWS to monitor, investigate, and strengthen our security posture - while gaining exposure to modern DevSecOps practices and tooling.
This is a great opportunity for someone with foundational cloud security experience who wants to grow in a hands-on engineering role, collaborating with experienced security, DevOps, and engineering teams across the company.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Perform security checks, configuration reviews, and basic troubleshooting in cloud environments (primarily AWS; GCP experience is a plus).
  • Monitor and investigate security events using AWS tools like Security Hub, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, VPC Flow Logs, and Athena.
  • Apply fundamental cloud security principles, including:
  • Secret management lifecycle
  • Data protection and backup strategies
  • Basic familiarity with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Implement small infrastructure and security changes using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
  • Maintain version control best practices with Git and collaborate on branching workflows.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipeline security, integrating scans, compliance checks, and access controls (GitLab CI/CD experience is a bonus).
