Piper Companies is seeking a Security Engineer (Prisma/Strata), to join a leading cybersecurity organization protecting the digital world with cutting-edge technology. The Security Engineer (Prisma/Strata) will act as a trusted advisor, leading firewall operations, policy cleanup, and hardware refresh projects.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE SECURITY ENGINEER (PRISMA/STRATA) INCLUDE:

  • Proven experience deploying and managing Palo Alto Networks firewalls across large enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on expertise with multiple PANW series: PA-220, PA-400, PA-800, PA-1400, PA-3200/3400, PA-5200/5400, PA-5450, PA-7000, VM-Series, CN-Series.
  • Strong understanding of Panorama (hardware, VM, or cloud).
  • Deep knowledge of Strata feature set: App-ID, User-ID, Content-ID, SSL Decryption, GlobalProtect, SD-WAN, AI-Ops.
  • Solid networking fundamentals: VLANs, BGP, static vs. dynamic routing, TCP/IP.
  • Cybersecurity expertise: CIA triad, encryption methods, phishing types, NGFW vs. legacy firewalls, APTs.
  • Experience with policy enforcement, threat prevention, and zero-day protection using PANW tools.
  • Must be a self-starter with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day maintenance and cleanup of PANW firewalls, migrating from Cisco environments.
  • Manage and optimize Panorama-driven VSYS configurations.
  • Oversee hardware refresh projects, including migration to PA-5400/5450 series firewalls.
  • Provide technical leadership and proactive support to prevent outages and ensure high availability.
  • Collaborate with network teams using Juniper and plan for future Prisma Access integration.
  • Conduct policy audits and cleanup, ensuring consistency and compliance.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on PANW technologies, including App-ID, User-ID, Content-ID, Decryption, and Wildfire.
  • Support centralized management and analytics via Panorama.
