Job Overview

Based in Townsville, we are seeking an experienced, full-time Security Equipment Trades Worker to join our team. With a minimum of 2 years' post trade experience in the electronic security industry, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, maintaining and commissioning high-end CCTV, alarm and access control systems, data networks, data cabling and associated cabling and network connected equipment.

Reporting to the Electronic Systems Manager, this is a Townsville based position, servicing customers and projects throughout Townsville and surrounds. As part of the role, regional travel is required from time to time to support project, installation and service requirements. This may involve extended periods of driving, overnight stays and variations to standard working hours. Health and safety are a priority at all times when undertaking regional travel and working at customer and project sites.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification relevant to the electronic security industry
• Queensland Security Provider Licence – Class 2 (Security Advisor and Security Equipment Installer)
• Open Cabling Registration with Structured, Coaxial and Optical Fibre endorsements
• Current valid driver's licence
• White card - General Construction Induction (CPCWHS1001)
• Current Queensland Blue Card
• Elevate Work Platform competency

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Minimum 2 years' post-trade experience in the electronic security industry
• Demonstrated experience installing, programming, commissioning, servicing, maintaining and fault-finding electronic security systems, including:
  • Alarm and security systems
  • IP CCTV and Video Management Systems
  • Electronic Access Control Systems
• Experience with electronic access control platforms such as Tecom, Integriti, Gallagher and Salto with current certification in at least two platforms.
• Ability to diagnose faults, troubleshoot and repair electronic security equipment and systems
• Sound IT and networking knowledge relevant to IP-based electronic security systems
• Ability to interpret plans, drawings, block diagrams and schematics
• Ability to survey customer sites, identify system requirements and assist with the preparation and pricing of quotations
• Ability to complete installations, commissioning, servicing and associated documentation and reporting safely and within required timeframes
• Ability to travel to remote sites, and work independently whilst effectively planning and organising work
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to provide on-the-job technical guidance, training and mentoring to less experienced technicians and apprentices

Desirable:

• Experience with electric security fencing, perimeter control systems, automated gates and barriers
• Experience with Nurse Call systems
