THE ROLE Chetola Resort is seeking a professional and reliable Security Guard to ensure the safety, security, and comfort of our guests, employees, and property during daytime operations. This role plays a vital part in upholding our resort’s reputation as a safe, welcoming, and well-managed environment for all who visit and work here. As a visible presence throughout the property during active guest hours, you help create a sense of security while also delivering warm, service-oriented hospitality. You may be one of the first team members guests encounter as they arrive, explore the grounds, or seek assistance. Whether offering a friendly greeting, providing directions, monitoring activity across the resort, or assisting with guest and team member needs, you help ensure that every individual on property feels safe, supported, and well cared for throughout their experience at Chetola. This role requires active movement throughout the resort and the ability to patrol both indoor and outdoor areas of the property. WHAT YOU’LL DO Guest Welcome & Support Serve as a visible and welcoming presence for guests throughout the resort property Greet guests warmly as they arrive or move through the grounds and provide directions or assistance when needed Respond to guest concerns or requests with professionalism and discretion Maintain a calm, approachable presence that reassures guests and team members alike Move throughout the property during your shift to remain accessible to guests and staff Safety & Security Oversight Conduct routine patrols of resort grounds, buildings, parking areas, and common spaces to maintain a safe environment Walk security patrol routes throughout the property, including navigating stairs, hills, pathways, parking areas, and uneven outdoor terrain Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to maintain security and safety Perform regular safety checks of doors, windows, and public spaces across the resort Drive between areas of the property when necessary to monitor activity or respond to situations Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, guest concerns, or unusual activity occurring anywhere on the resort grounds Operations & Reporting Document guest interactions, incidents, and patrol observations in clear and detailed reports Communicate effectively with management and emergency services when required Assist with emergency response procedures, including evacuations, medical calls, and safety incidents Enforce resort policies in a respectful and guest-centered manner Remain mobile and able to respond quickly to situations across different areas of the property Requirements ATTENTION TO DETAIL IN ACTION Noticing a guest looking unsure and proactively offering directions before they ask Spotting a propped-open door, burned-out light, or safety hazard and addressing it immediately Observing subtle changes in guest behavior or activity that may require early intervention Ensuring patrol routes are completed thoroughly—no shortcuts, no missed areas Writing clear, specific incident reports that allow leadership to fully understand what occurred Maintaining a polished, professional appearance and presence at all times Anticipating peak times or high-traffic areas and positioning yourself where you’re most needed ABOUT YOU Friendly, approachable, & guest-focused, you enjoy making people feel welcome/safe Calm under pressure, able to respond thoughtfully to both routine & urgent situations Dependable & attentive, with strong observational skills and a sense of responsibility A team player who takes pride in representing the resort with professionalism & care REQUIREMENTS Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, or security preferred Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills Must be able to walk, stand, and patrol the property for extended periods during a shift Must be able to navigate stairs, hills, and uneven outdoor terrain across the resort Must be able to move quickly between areas of the property and respond to incidents when needed Must be able to drive a vehicle on property when required for patrols or response Availability to work weekends and holidays WHY CHETOLA One of the largest private employers in the county with a dynamic work setting and strong potential for career growth Join a dedicated and growing team shaping the next era of a beloved mountain resort Contribute meaningfully to a culture rooted in connection, craftsmanship, and care Competitive hourly wage Benefits offered for eligible employees who work more than 30 hours per week, including health, dental, vision, supplemental benefits, PTO, and on-property perks Chetola Resort is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
