Description

Responsibilities:

  • Control access points to the ship and screen guests, crew, and their luggage.
  • Operate at the gangway while in port and at tender docking stations when at anchor.
  • Monitor security on board 24/7, alternating between day and night shifts.
  • Maintain and present activity logs to the Chief/Deputy Security Officer after night shifts.
  • Conduct regular security patrols in public, crew, and restricted areas.
  • Perform routine crew cabin inspections and enforce security regulations.
  • Be trained in fire prevention and basic firefighting, assessing and responding to fire incidents until the fire team arrives.
  • Know the location and proper use of all safety and security equipment on board.
  • Prevent or report any misuse of ship property or violations of regulations.
  • Conduct random and scheduled crew cabin checks, alcohol, and drug tests as instructed by the Chief Security Officer.
  • Remain alert and ready to take emergency action while on duty.
  • Attend meetings, training sessions, and courses as required by company policies.
  • Assist in basic security and safety training for officers, staff, and crew.

Requirements:

  • Experience in security and firearms handling.
  • Military or police background preferred.
  • Previous experience as a security guard on a ship is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
