Department: Location: Belknap Campus Time Type: Full time Worker Type: Regular Job Req ID: R107735 Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma/GED and up to 2 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid driver's license. Grade 1 (Hourly) Position Description: The primary responsibilities for the position of Security Officer is the locking and unlocking of university facilities on a time scheduled basis, performing walk through security checks of university buildings, and identifying potential security and safety hazards. The officer will also assist in the monitoring of parking lot facilities, performing motorist assistance, providing escorts upon request and providing general information to visitors of the university as well as the university community. Must have the ability to perform extensive sitting, standing, and walking; to communicate effectively; to operate two-way radios and telephones. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform scheduled locking/unlocking and provide security of University staff. Perform requests for access to University facilities. Perform written notification of security and safety deficiencies. Perform motorist assistance. Perform escorts. Perform parking enforcement. Perform traffic control for special functions. First responder to fire and burglar alarms. Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
