  Security Guard – Night Shift The Security Guard is responsible for ensuring a secure perimeter and the overall safety of the park. A meticulous eye for detail is essential. This person works completely independently outside of operating hours and therefore must be able to solve problems and evaluate situations effectively. The security shifts are 4:00pm-12:00am and 12:00am-8:00am. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Complete hourly patrols of the interior and exterior of the zoo, reporting or addressing any safety concerns. * Physically and visually inspect all perimeter and interior gates, fencing, padlocks and building doors.  * Check buildings for any irregularities such as temperature or lights left on etc. * Empties waste receptacles in certain areas around grounds while completing patrols. * Monitors animal exhibits, and behaviors at request of animal care staff and reports any abnormal behavior or safety concerns. * Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire, hazards and security doors left open. * Calls emergency services, and designated zoo officials, in case of emergency. * Keeps a log of daily activities including any irregularities and concerns. * Enforce zoo rules and regulations. * Other duties as assigned by Management.  Qualifications and Experience: * High School Diploma or equivalent * Minimum 18 years old * Must have the ability to work flexible hours * Valid Driver’s License SPECIAL INFORMATION Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Compliance Naples Zoo is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
