Department of Auxiliary Services - Safety Services Division
Security Guard (Unarmed)
Position Type: Temporary Part-Time, Temporary Full-Time Pay Rate: $18-19.50/hr
Reports to: Shift Supervisor, Director of Auxiliary Services
The Security Guard is responsible for facilitating a safe and welcoming environment at Community Boating while ensuring that organizational security needs are met, and responding to routine, urgent, and emergency situations in the facility.
Candidates must be able to:
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Work collaboratively with other staff, outside organizations and public safety.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
- Remain calm and professional in high stress situations.
- Obtain and maintain a BLS CPR/First Aid Certification (company sponsored)
- MA EMT-Basic Certification Preferred.
- Operate radio communications equipment.
- Communicate, read, and write effectively in English.
- Maintain written documentation of activities performed on shift.
- Lift 75 lbs from the ground to table height, drag 100lbs 10 feet on the ground and carry 50 lbs for 100 feet
Duties and Responsibilities include:
Assisting guests with wayfinding and directions, assisting guest services staff.
Controlling access to the facility during times of restricted entry.
Responding to emergency alarms and radio calls within the facility.
Completing periodic rounds of the facility to check for signs of unauthorized access.
Escorting vehicles on pedestrian paths between the facility and public roads
Maintaining chain of command at all times during routine and emergency operations.
Other tasks and duties assigned by Directors and Dockmasters.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $18.00 - $19.50 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 40 per week

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- No nights
- On call
- Weekends as needed
Experience:
- Security: 2 years (Preferred)
