Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Security department is active 24 hours per day and is responsible for the day-to-day patrolling of public and employee areas ensuring that losses from whatever source and by whatever means are minimized, security policies maintained and Health and Safety regulations observed. The Security Intern assists the Security Supervisor and support the day-to-day Security operations of the Property. The role includes supporting in workplace safety and life/fire safety systems and preventing situations that could jeopardize the safety and operation of the hotel.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Patrol the public areas regularly, including the guest floors and back of house areas, together with the perimeter of the hotel and grounds, car park and pool to prevent intrusion by unauthorized people or undesirables and check the status of the property
  • Ensure, during routine patrols, that health and safety regulations are being observed and that all fire regulations are met.
  • Document any crime, incident or injury which has taken place, including the completion and filing of Security Incident report and electronic security logs.
  • Assist and facilitate all daily activities of the security office, including data collection for analysis and statistical purposes.
  • Attend operational meetings for the purpose of providing and receiving information and directives
  • Accept and secure items of lost property, attempting to restore these items to the rightful owner following the L&F policy guidelines.
