Welcome to the Extraordinary. The Hazelton Hotel Toronto is comprised of 77 suites in a limestone building that has been designed to set the standard for five-star hotels in Canada. The oversized accommodations are designed by internationally renowned designers Yabu Pushelberg and feature the latest in technology and communication.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must Possess valid Ontario Private Security and Investigative Services License
  • Excellent written and communication skills in English – second language an asset
  • Previous experience is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Must possess valid driver’s license – registered in Ontario (full G level) and must obtain and present up-to-date Driver’s Abstract free of any serious demerit points.

Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the General Manager.
  • Perform security rounds to ensure employee, resident, guest and building safety.
  • Maintain communication with Guest Services to give and receive information on problems requiring investigation.
  • Record discrepancies observed during security patrols.
  • Protect property from admission of undesirables and others not conducting legitimate business within the premises.
  • Respond to hotel staff, guest and resident requests for assistance.
  • Respond to medical emergency calls and provide basic first aid and/or cardiopulmonary resuscitation in accordance with local medical protocols.
  • Responsible for Building Fire Safety, conducting Fire Drills and maintaining Emergency Evacuation Plans. Respond to fire alarms and assist where needed.
  • Respond to emergencies, complaints and requests for assistance in accordance with departmental and hotel policies and procedures. Provide assistance to all scenes or liaise with outside agencies to ensure that assistance is received.
  • Provide reports through written documentation of all incidents, events and actions taken during the course of a shift.
  • Responsible for the closed-circuit camera system and supplying evidence/footage as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding any information or action required in the course of duties in accordance with corporate and legal requirements.
  • Be “on call” for emergency situations.
  • Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the hotel health and safety program.
  • Issue badges to contractors and record onsite visits.
  • Contact relevant departments to arrange the transfer of the goods to their final location within the same day.
  • Record in the Receiving Log all incoming goods and issue a record at the end of the day.
  • Administrative functions as related to the normal course of duties, i.e., filing, report distribution photocopying, faxing, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
