Description

THE FUTURE LOOKS LIKE YOU

Strolling through the shopping streets, the stores of C&A cannot be unnoticed. With 1,300 stores in 17 European countries, C&A is one of the most enduring and pioneering retailers in global apparel. Since 1841 the Brenninkmeijer brothers Clemens and August formed the basis of the leading retail fashion business, providing quality, affordable clothing to millions of customers each year. The retail sector is transforming quickly and so is C&A. With a fairly new European management team and a new strategy, C&A is heading towards a sustainable and futureproof era of growth.
As the Loss & Prevention Specialistyou are the stand-alone Security Consultantfor all the C&A locations in the Netherlands and in the Dutch speaking part of Belgium. The European team exists roughly about 10 members and together you stand for the physical safety of C&A Europe. You deliver efficient and effective ways to protect the companies’ properties, assets and people from damage, loss, theft, fraud and violence in an assigned market. In this role you are responsible for reaching measurable results and strengthening the awareness of loss prevention and security in your assigned market to contribute to C&As overall profit.

Responsibilities
  • Perform regular loss prevention and security audits in all C&A entities (Stores, Distribution Centres, Headquarters) to ensure compliance with the companies security standards
  • Report audit results, identified risks and recommendations to the responsible site representatives (store manager, district manager) to initiate and agree on countermeasures for the entities thus decreasing and/or preventing losses
  • Report KPIs and consolidated findings from the audits to the markets lead and/or omni-selling lead on a regular basis, to ensure the awareness of loss prevention and security topics
  • Evaluate and verify that the agreed measures are in place and effective, to ensure the loss prevention goals
  • Plan and observe the budget for security agencies and necessary capex investments for security measures (e.g. security tags, video surveillance) in the market to protect the assets and ensure a proper balance between cost and benefit
  • Complete investigations, evidence, interviews, interrogations and documentation in fraud and other criminal cases to close the cases properly, thus supporting the local responsible (selling, HR, legal)
  • Inform and train new team leaders, managers and other security relevant positions (e.g. reception desk) in selling, logistics and office management on loss prevention and safety measures to set the company’s safety standard
  • Collaborate and share insights within the entire loss prevention and security team to identify and use best practice for the local market
  • Stay up to date with the latest security issues and developments in the market by getting in contact with competitors’ security managers, visiting events of security-related organizations (e.g. EHI Retail Institute, police) and appropriate trade fairs to ensure best practice and improve deliverables
  • Control the selection and tendering process for security agencies, together with indirect procurement, and align the security agencies with C&As loss prevention goals to ensure optimal support from the agencies
