SAIC is seeking a fulltime Security System Specialist to support the US Navy in Crane, IN. JOB DESCRIPTION: The Security System Specialist will provide support for day-to-day operations for Office of the Inspector General (OIG), in physical security systems design, installation, troubleshooting, logistics and repair of shore based electronic security systems and physical security systems. Typical systems include access control and intrusion detection systems that operate from and are compatible with the infrastructure at each location. Note: This position may travel up to 25%25 to locations at Office of Inspector General and other locations nationwide, (Honolulu, Hawaii, San Diego, CA, Tampa, FL, Cleveland, OH, Denver, CO and Crane, IN). Lodging, car rentals and airfare will be provided for travel. Per Diem rates vary based on location of travel. JOB RESPONSIBILITES: Provide maintenance and technical support required for ancillary facilities, modifications, firmware updates and installation of new Electronic Security Systems (ESS) and security devices in buildings This includes the installation of security systems, digital video surveillance systems, and various security related sensors and devices such as balanced magnetic switches, surveillance cameras and infrared motion detectors as required Provide support for ancillary facilities installation, modifications, yearly maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repair of Bosch Security Systems, American Dynamics and Pelco Digital Video Surveillance Systems and various security related sensors and devices such as balanced magnetic switches, surveillance cameras and infrared motion detectors in all OIG buildings located CONUS Inspection of installed security systems for each building to be performed quarterly and/or as required Facilitate customer changes, coordinated site review and training, and customer relations follow-up REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree and 2 or more years of experience; Master's degree and zero years experience. Additional years of experience in lieu of a degree will be accepted. Must be motivated, professional in demeanor, and able to work in a fast-paced environment Must be willing to cross-train into other types of equipment and systems as required Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Basic computer skills Ability to follow step-by-step instruction to complete tasking Ability to read specifications, shop drawings, schematics, and blueprints Capable of using basic inspection and maintenance tools Self-motivated with a sense of urgency in day-to-day performance May be contacted after hours (on personal cell phone) for emergency response support for security issues infrequently REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE: Interim secret required to start with the ability to obtain a secret clearance. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process Must be a U.S. citizen DESIRED: Honeywell Security System knowledge desired but not required
