Bankstown Sports Club are looking for a Security Manager is to oversee and ensure the effective delivery of security services across multiple Bankstown Sports venues, with a strong focus on maintaining staff and patron safety.
The position is responsible for fostering a culture of vigilance, promoting a high standard of customer service, driving efficiencies in operational processes, actively contributing to the development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies, and leading continuous improvement initiatives across security operations
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Risk management and operations teams to establish and maintain effective emergency and
crisis management systems.
- Liaise with local Law Enforcement Authorities, regulators, Liquor accord on security issues, affecting the Club(s)
and surrounding community.
- Develop and implement comprehensive security policies and procedures that safeguard the Club’s assets,
members and reputation.
- Conduct regular performance reviews with security contractors, providing clear and actionable feedback to drive service quality and team capability.
- Oversee the full security contractor lifecycle, including selection, appointment, rostering and performance management.
- Manage relationships with key security related contractors, including our CCTV provider and Security Guard providers.
- Contribute to the development of contract tender proposals, ensuring compliance with operational needs and
budget constraints.
- Oversee the procurement of security equipment, negotiating cost-effective solutions aligned with operational
needs and technological advancements in access control, CCTV, and other related technologies.
- Inspect and audit the Club’s CCTV infrastructure, perimeter security, external access points, internal access points
and security controls, escalating concerns and recommending appropriate corrective actions or improvements
- Manage access control system and security access levels as required by all Club staff, tenants and contractors.
- Distribute and manage key and access tags for staff, including the monitoring of the Club’s Key Safe and relevant
software.
- Investigate security breaches and security-related Member incidents, including case management activities, written report writing, record keeping, escalation to Operations Manager where appropriate and identifying applicable corrective actions to inform process improvement.
- Formulate and present clear, accurate security reports and analysis to management and key stakeholders, enabling data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Develop and deliver appropriate Security-related Induction and ongoing Security training for staff.
- Prepare members’ disciplinary briefs for Board consideration.
- Provide expert guidance and coaching to direct reports, fostering a culture of accountability, customer service and continuous improvement in security and compliance.
Essential Criteria
- Management level experience in Police Force or Security is essential.
- Proven ability to promote and maintain staff and patron safety while upholding excellent customer service
standards
- Highly developed communication skills
- Proficiency in managing and operating security technology, including CCTV systems, access control and
associated software.
- RSA and Advanced RCG Competency Card
- Ability to work a flexible roster, including days, nights, and weekends as needed, to best support the business
during peak trading periods.
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a dynamic, fast paced environment
- Current NSW Driver’s License and ability to drive between external venues
- High level of integrity, trustworthiness and discretion, with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all
times
- Ability to obtain and maintain a current, clear Police Background Check in accordance with security industry
and Club Compliance requirements.
