Unlike traditional security operations roles, this position is focused on building, improving, and modernizing security capabilities. You'll be responsible for designing and implementing security controls across identity, cloud, data protection, vulnerability management, threat detection, and incident response while helping shape the Bank's long-term security strategy. If you enjoy solving complex security challenges, driving projects from concept to implementation, and influencing technology decisions, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative environment with direct access to executive leadership. What You'll Do: Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Bank's cybersecurity controls across identity and access management, cloud security, infrastructure security, data protection, vulnerability management, and incident response. Drive security modernization initiatives using technologies such as Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, Defender, Sentinel, Purview, and Azure security services. Partner with Infrastructure, Engineering, and business teams to identify risks, strengthen security architecture, and embed security into technology and business processes. Manage vulnerability assessments, remediation efforts, security monitoring, incident response activities, and ongoing risk reduction initiatives. Support regulatory examinations, audits, vendor security reviews, and compliance efforts within a highly regulated financial services environment. Serve as a trusted security advisor, helping influence technology decisions and advance the Bank's overall cybersecurity strategy. Requirements What We're Looking For: Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of experience in security engineering, cloud security, identity security, infrastructure security, or a closely related cybersecurity discipline. Experience designing and implementing security controls in enterprise environments. Strong understanding of identity management, cloud platforms, networking, security architecture, and cybersecurity best practices. Proven ability to lead technical projects, solve complex problems, and collaborate effectively across teams. Preferred qualifications Experience in banking, financial services, fintech, or another regulated industry. Hands-on experience with Microsoft security technologies, including Entra ID, Defender, Sentinel, Purview, and Azure security services. Familiarity with vulnerability management, data protection, incident response, security monitoring, and secure software development practices. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CISM, GIAC, or Security+ are a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
Lead the design and implementation of cybersecurity controls across identity, cloud, and infrastructure to modernize the Bank's security capabilities. Partner with cross-functional teams to manage vulnerability assessments, incident response, and regulatory compliance in a financial services environment.
