Description
The Security Manager (SM) is responsible for the delivery of all logistical and operational requirements associated with static (and in some cases mobile) security guarding in support of Control Risks commercial operations. The role also leads the development, implementation, and ongoing review of all security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) relating to the project’s static guard commitments. The SM must be capable of leading a concentrated group of Iraqi national guards and life support staff whilst commanding their respect through professionalism, discipline, and high personal standards, while ensuring consistent operational performance and service delivery. The postholder is also responsible for maintaining accurate equipment accounts for the static guard and life support provision, promptly identifying deficiencies, and ensuring that losses, faults, or shortfalls are reported and addressed promptly. In addition, the SM supports the Regional Security & Operations Manager North in delivering mandatory training, contributes to maintaining operational readiness, and provides backfill support to mobile operations when required. The role demands strong leadership, sound judgement, and the ability to uphold company, client, and HSE standards in a demanding operational environment. Tasks and responsibilities Operations Direct and manage the Static Security Operations Room and associated control room activities across the site. Implement, monitor, and continuously improve site-specific Standard Operating Procedures.. Ensure the consistent application of company policies across the static guard force, including human resources, training, logistics, communications, and equipment support. Collate, review, and submit project communications, operational returns, and logistics reports in an accurate and timely manner. Provide operational backfill for mobile security operations where required to maintain continuity of service. Conduct immediate risk assessments and initiate the appropriate first response to security or safety incidents involving client personnel or company employees. Oversee the completion and submission of Equipment Fault Reports and ensure faults are reported promptly to the relevant support departments. Establish routines, systems, and supervisory controls that ensure effective management of personnel, assets, and operational performance across all static guard locations. Personnel Management Supervise static guard personnel in the execution of their duties and maintain high standards of operational performance, professionalism, and discipline. Supervise life support personnel in the execution of their duties and maintain high standards of operational performance, professionalism, and discipline. Support the professional development of guard force personnel through coaching, mentoring, and formal performance reviews. Ensure all guard force personnel understand and comply with company Standard Operating Procedures, client requirements, and applicable Health, Safety and Environment policies. Promote appropriate conduct, ethical behaviour, and adherence to company values and standards at all times. Administration and Compliance Assist the Associate Director of Operations, Human Resources, and Compliance functions in the allocation and management of personnel in accordance with company policy and employment requirements. Supervise equipment support standards on site in accordance with the relevant equipment support policy. Monitor and verify the correct handover and transfer of equipment between responsible site managers. Support the identification, escalation, and mitigation of operational and business risks, including those arising from unethical conduct or non-compliance.
